They began the second phase of the league round with a close defeat to the Kings XI Punjab. However, they bounced back in style with a classic victory over the Rajasthan Royals earlier today. The batsmen of the Royal Challengers Bangalore mauled the Rajasthan Royals as a magnificent performance from AB de Villiers gave RCB the win.

Earlier, the Rajasthan Royals had batted first and posted a decent total of 177 on the board. Captain Steve Smith led the team from the front by scoring a half-century, whereas Robin Uthappa also impressed while opening the innings. South African all-rounder Chris Morris was the pick of the bowlers for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as he returned with figures of 4/26 in 4 overs.

In the second innings, Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch got RCB off to a solid start, and Virat Kohli’s 32-ball 43 set the platform for AB de Villiers to do what he does the best. The South African wicket-keeper batsman smashed an unbeaten half-century to power RCB to their sixth win of the season.

While Finch hit two sixes in his 11-ball 14 against RR, a short clip which shows him vaping in the dressing room has gone viral on the internet. The camera man was focusing on the players and match officials when the Royal Challengers Bangalore required eight runs off five deliveries.
