Watch: Tim Southee stuns everyone with the throw at stumps

New Zealand pace-spearhead Tim Southee has stunned everyone with his throw at the stumps during the game against Australia.

Both the sides have been doing well in recent times in the longer format of the game. The first Test between Australia and New Zealand have been taking place in Perth where Australia won the toss and opted to bat first.

David Warner has carried his formidable form in the game where he has provided with a flying start to his side. Australia put up 24 runs after 6 overs where Warner took the onus on his shoulder. Joe Burns, on the other hand, took his usual time to set his eyes in.

The throw that stuns everyone

The surprising incident took place in the 1st ball of the 7th over. Tim Southee bowled a dot ball to Joe Burns w here he thought that the batsman is out of the crease. Hence, he ended up throwing the ball at the stumps.

However, Joe Burns was well aware and he was not at all out of the crease and the ball hit on his thigh, which left him with a wry smile and a look of confusion as well.

His opening partner, David Warner, on the other hand, clapped back at Tim Southee after his throw and he was also seen talking to him. While the paceman told that Burns was “in front of the wicket”, citing it was Burns’s fault for coming in the way of the attempted run out, but Warner seemed to disagree.

“Hey, come on,” he said. “You’re supposed to be Mr Nice Guys.”

However, Joe Burns later fell for just nine runs when he was trapped before the stumps by Colin de Grandhomme.
