The second T20I match between India and New Zealand ended in a happy manner for the Indian fans as the Men in Blue took a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series with a resounding 7-wicket win in the 2nd T20 international.

Earlier in the series, Virat Kohli and co. had won the high-scoring run fest but today the Indian bowlers ensured that New Zealand does not score many runs.

The Kiwis elected to bat first after the toss ended in Kane Williamson’s favor. Martin Guptill and Colin Munro got the home side off to a flier before Shardul Thakur dismissed the right-handed batsman on the final ball of the powerplay.

About the Match

As mentioned ahead, New Zealand could only post 132 runs on the scoreboard despite winning the toss and batting first in a small ground. Ravindra Jadeja was the wrecker-in-chief for India as he gave away only 18 runs in his 4 overs and also scalped 2 important wickets.

In reply, India got off to a bad start as they lost the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli early in the run-chase. Tim Southee looked in red hot form but, some fine batting performances from Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul ensured that India wins the match quite comfortably in the end.

A collision between Shardul Thakur and Colin Munro

Talk ing about the nasty collision between Thakur and Munro, this incident happened on the third ball of the sixth over. The left-handed batsman tried to place the ball delicately however, the ball did not travel the distance.

Thakur had already conceded a lot of runs in the earlier overs hence, under that pressure he did not look at anything surrounding himself. He directly charged into the batsman and both fell on the ground.
