Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif believes that former Indian captain MS Dhoni still has a lot to offer to Indian cricket. He also called MS Dhoni one of India’s greatest match winners.
Mohammad Kaif tweeted this about MS Dhoni while celebrating the 7 years of India winning Champions Trophy.
On 23 June 2013, India defeated England in the final of Champions Trophy. With this victory, Dhoni became the first captain in the world to win all major ICC trophies (50-over World Cup, 20-over World Cup and Champions Trophy) in the history of cricket.
Till now he has this unique record on his name. No other captain in history hasn’t done so far. Mohammad Kaid shared few photos of India winning Champions Trophy and quoted,
“On this day, 7 years back, MS Dhoni became the first captain to win all three ICC Trophies—Champions Trophy (2013),World Cup(2011) & WT20 (2007). Fine captain & a champion player. One of India’s greatest match-winners. I feel he still has a lot to offer to Indian cricket @msdhoni”
The 38-year-old Dhoni last played competitive cricket during the 2019 World Cup. He was set to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL), with the league postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus crisis in the country. This has made the wait for MS Dhoni’s return a little longer.
Apart from this, Dhoni was not included in the list of contracted players by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) this year. The Indian board had released the player’s list for the period from October 2019 to September 2020.
