Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is the sole representative of the cricket world in the Top 100 highest-paid athletes list of Forbes for the second consecutive year.
In 2019 also, Virat was the only one from the cricket universe to be present in the Forbes Top 100 highest-paid athletes of the world. According to Forbes, Virat earned $26 million in the last 12 months.
A major chunk of his earnings came from brand endorsements as the report suggests that he earned $24 million only from his sponsors. The long list of companies associated with the Indian skipper includes Audi, Uber, Manyavar, Wrogn, and One8 by PUMA.
The full list of 100 players contains players majorly from basketball and football. Both sports are played and followed globally. Hence, the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are present in the top 10. Tennis legend Roger Federer has topped the list for the first time with whopping earnings of $106.3 million.
Talking about Kohli’s assets, he owns an Audi R8 V10 LMX, Audi Q7, and Audi Q8. He is also the face of Hero MotoCorp’s Xtreme 200R premium motorcycle
During the lockdown period, everyone would have noted that Kohli also endorses fantasy gaming and fantasy predictions application Mobile Premier League (MPL). The other brands that Kohli has paid partnership deals with are American Tourister, Philips India, Too Yumm, Himalaya, Vicks, Volini, and Royal Challenge.
Thus, through these many sources of income, Kohli has become the highest-paid cricketer of 2020. No other player features in the top 100.
