IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore lost by 69 runs against Chennai Super Kings in the 19th match of IPL 2021. This is also the first defeat of RCB in this season. According to a press release issued by the Indian Premier League, “Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 25.
It further states, “As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Mr Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh.”
Significantly, in the 19th match of IPL 2021 on Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered their first defeat of this season. Chennai Super Kings batting first scored 191 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. In response, RCB was able to score only 122 for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the hero of this victory of Chennai. Sir Jadeja played an explosive inning of 62 not out in just 28 balls. After that, he took three wickets for just 13 runs with a maiden in four overs. Jadeja hit 37 runs in one over of Harshal Patel in the 20th over of Chennai’s innings and shattered the records.
