In the difficult times when the whole world is suffering from the pandemic, cricket boards have resumed cricket with the safety protocols. But still, there are lapses in security of the players, staff, and officials.

Before the start of the match, news comes out that one South African player has tested Covid positive. After this, both the cricketing board RSA and ECB declared that the first match is postponed.
This first match was rescheduled to play on Sunday at Paarl (day match). While the other two ODIs will be day and night games to be played at Capetown only
The South African board gave a statement on the postponement of the first ODI after a South African player tested Covid positive-
“Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the England Cricket Board (ECB) would like to announce the postponement of the first Betway One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series to Sunday, 06 December 2020,” said a statement from Cricket South Africa.

“This decision results from a player from the Proteas team testing positive for COVID-19 after the teams’ last round of scheduled testing performed on Thursday ahead of the ODIs.”
In the interests of the safety and well-being of both teams, match officials, and all involved in the match, the Acting CEO of CSA, Kugandrie Govender as well as the CEO of the ECB, Tom Harrison, have agreed to postpone the first fixture to Sunday,” the statement added.
The second is to be played on 7th December between Engl and and South Africa. For now, it is still unclear over the next match. Whether the rest of the tour will go as per schedule or boards will be looking for other options. Here is the ODI schedule of South Africa vs England, 2020
