Team India’s former fast bowler Ashish Nehra has taken on the team management for not handling properly with wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
Recently in a conversation with cricket commentator Akash Chopra, he said on Pant’s downfall that the team management should have shown confidence in him. When Rishabh Pant emerged in international cricket, he was seen as a replacement for legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but now he is giving water to the players.
After Rishabh Pant’s arrival in the Indian cricket team, he was considered to be Dhoni’s successor. Former selector MSK Prasad also said many times that he is preparing Rishabh Pant in place of Dhoni and MS Dhoni wants the same.

But Rishabh Pant has failed to take his place in the team. Rishabh Pant has also given plenty of opportunities. In view of his poor performance, he was dropped from the team and KL Rahul was given a wicketkeeping opportunity in the last few times.

Ashish Nehra also accepted that Rishabh Pant has missed his chances but he has the potential
“I know he (Pant) has missed his chances and there is no doubt about it but then you have kept him in the team because you saw the potential in him at 22-23 years,” Nehra said.
Rishabh Pant has played 13 Tests and he has scored 814 runs. Talking about limited over, he has played 16 ODIs and 28 T20s so far and has scored 374, and 410 runs respectively.
