In IPL 2018 auction the left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc was contracted by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 9.40 crores. But due to the leg injury, he couldn’t participate in that IPL edition. After that KKR released Mitchell Starc ahead of IPL 2019.
Currently, Mitchell Starc has submitted video footage to the Insurance company of the second cricket test against South Africa in 2018. This video can prove that he got hurt while playing and due to which for not able to play in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) he is entitled to the insurance amount of 1.53 Million dollars (Rs 11.7 crore).
Mitchell Starc filed a case against the insurance company in April last year. The insurer, however, protested that the injury occurred during the second test in Port Elizabeth.
As per the reports, the civil case will be heard from August 12. Mediation efforts between the two sides failed last month when Starc’s manager Andrew Fraser provided video footage of Fox Sports showing the fast bowler bowling during the second Test.

But the Insurance company is arguing over the timing of the injury. According to the insurer, they did not get enough time to assess the footage from 10 March 2018. One footage is one minute 37 seconds while the other is seven minutes 25 seconds.
However, Starc’s legal team has stated that the insurance company had 13 months to review the case and to demand the footage. Mitchell Starc must prove that he suffered the only and sudden injury at a known place and time. Starc played the third Test of the series. Both sides have submitted their medical reports.
