Australia’s newest batting star, Marnus Labuschagne has opened up on his international career, saying that he wishes to represent Australia in all three formats. The right-handed batsman has established himself as a match-winner for his country with some splendid performances in the ICC World Test Championship.
Because of his fine outings in red-ball cricket, Marnus earned an opportunity to represent Australia in the 50-overs format. However, since his T20 record is not up to the mark, the selectors have not given him a chance to play T20I cricket.
Talking about his stats in the shortest form of the game, Labuschagne has played 10 T20s, scoring just 97 runs.
When asked about playing T20I cricket during a recent video interview, he replied:
“By no means do I want to limit myself to only those two formats. I definitely have ambition to play T20 cricket for Australia.”

He accepted the fact that he has not received enough opportunities to showcase his talent, but that does not mean that he does not have the caliber to play T20s. Asked if he would make any changes to his technique to break into the T20I team, he answered:
“For me it’s just about making sure that my processes, that I’m prepared, that I understand what the game requires and then to make decisions upon that.”

Lastly, he said that playing Tests and ODIs is the top priority for him right now, and if he gets a chance to play T20Is for Australia, he would love to grab that opportunity with both the hands.
