Australian cricket broadcasters, Fox Cricket have reversed the trends of picking all-time XIs as they named their predicted best Test XI of the year 2025. Interestingly, the team features Australian batting star Steve Smith, Pakistani captain Babar Azam, and even South African captain Quinton de Kock.
However, the FOX officials left out Indian skipper Virat Kohli from the team. The XI consists of some upcoming stars like Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill. Also, Afghanistan’s spin-bowling all-rounder, Rashid Khan finds a place in this squad.
The trio of India’s Jasprit Bumrah, Australia’s Pat Cummins, and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada will shoulder the pace bowling responsibilities. One of the most interesting inclusions in the team is Australia’s new Mr. Consistent Marnus Labuschagne. He will bat at number five for this team after Shaw, Gill, Smith, and Azam.
All in all, this team looks pretty solid. However, it would have been better had the FOX officials picked Virat Kohli in the team. Because the Indian skipper has a terrific record in all conditions except New Zealand. On the other side, Marnus Labuschagne is yet to perform well in the subcontinent while Azam has not played that good in overseas conditions.
Here is the complete team that FOX officials named on their Twitter handle. The team has three Indians, one Afghan, three Aussies, one Englishman, and two South Africans.
Fox Cricket’s World XI of 2025: Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Steve Smith, Babar Azam, Marnus Labuschagne, Ben Stokes, Quinton de Kock (WK), Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins, Rashid Khan.
