India’s upcoming wicket-keeper batsman, Sanju Samson has stated that coming out to bat for the Indian team in the Super Over against New Zealand is one of the greatest achievements of his career.
“Batting for India in Super Over is one of my greatest achievements,” says Sanju Samson
In case you forgot, the Men in Blue had played two consecutive Super Overs against New Zealand in the T20I series played earlier this year. The team management wished to try the talent in Samson. Hence, they gave him an opportunity to bat during the Super Over, a situation where every batsman of the world naturally comes under pressure.
Although Samson had not fared well in the Indian innings before the Super Over, the backroom staff trusted him and sent him to bat at number three after KL Rahul lost his wicket. The pressure was very high because if the Kerala-based batsman would lose his wicket, India would have lost the game.
