Babar Azam has been appointed as the ODI and T20I captain on the place of Sarfraz Ahmad who has been remove from the central contract by PCB.
Pakistan Cricket Board has released the list of its annual contract with the players. It does not include the name of former Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfraz Ahmed. The contract also includes young fast-bowler Naseem Shah and wicketkeeper-batsman Iftikhar Ahmed.
Azam has been appointed as the captain of the ODI team in his place. Babar Azam took over the captaincy of T20 also and now he has also given the command of the ODI team.
Babar Azam has played 26 Tests and 74 ODIs in his career so far. Azam has 11 centuries in ODIs and 5 centuries in Tests. Babar Azam made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in the year 2015. Azam has been successful in establishing himself in Pakistan cricket in a very short time.
Azhar Ali will captain the Test team. Sarfaraz Ahmed was removed from test captaincy after an embarrassing defeat at home against Sri Lanka. Now he has also been excluded from the annual contract by the PCB.
Azhar has played 78 tests and he has scored 5919 runs with an average of 42.58 and 16 centuries. He also has a triple century in test on his name.

19-year-old young fast bowler Nasim Shah made his Test debut against Australia last year. He made an impact when he took 5 wickets last year against Sri Lanka in Karachi and then a huge hat-trick against Bangladesh. Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Iftikhar as the new wicketkeeper of its team in place of Sarfaraz Ahmad.
