Andrew Tye says more players to leave IPL soon and also reveals reason

Australian and Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Andrew Tye left the IPL in the midst due to fears of entry into his country due to increased Corona cases in India. He has also claimed that many of Australia’s cricketers could take a big decision soon.

Andrew Tye didn’t play any match for Rajasthan Royals this season. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals for one crore rupees

The 34-year-old Andrew Tye spoke to ‘Sen Radio’ from Doha on Monday. During this he revealed the reason for leaving IPL so early. He said,

“There was a number of reasons, but the main one was with the situation that has started to happen back home in Perth with a lot of cases in hotel quarantine coming out of India,” he said.

“Now there’s been a community case in Perth governments are trying to restrict numbers coming back in, especially in Western Australia. There are definitely concerns (from the Australians), he added

More players might leave IPL 2021

Australia’s David Warner, Steve Smith, and Pat Cummins are also playing in the IPL. Tye said that many players are look ing at returning. He said

“A lot of guys have been in touch today once they realized I was leaving. Some of the guys are very interested in what route I took home and other guys are just happy to make sure I’m okay. Not sure if I’ll be the only one.”

Meanwhile, Andrew Tye also praised IPL and BCCI for the management. He said,

“Yes, the IPL and BCCI have done an amazing job of keeping us safe but at the same time it’s tough and you also feel bad for the amount of people out there with COVID and we are still able to play cricket.”

Earlier, Liam Livingstone of the Royals also returned to the UK before the travel ban came into force. And after Andrew Tye, Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa also went to Australia citing personal reasons.

Whereas Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers Association have also put a joint statement. In this, they have said that they are in touch with their cricketers, coaches, and commentators involved in the IPL and they are monitoring the situation.
