AB de Villiers on Tuesday playing against Delhi Capitals completed 5000 runs in his IPL career. De Villiers is known for his destructive batting style and against Delhi Capitals he played that type of inning.

AB De Villiers played an unbeaten inning of 75 runs off 42 balls which included three fours and five magnificent sixes. With this, de Villiers also help his team Bangalore to score  171 runs for five wickets in 20 overs.

In this match, AB de Villiers completed his 5000 runs in his IPL career. With this, he has also named a record of completed 5000 runs in IPL in the fewest balls. De Villiers has faced just 3288 balls to complete 5000 runs.

He is followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner, who completed 5000 runs in 3554 balls. Suresh Raina completed in 3620, Rohit Sharma in 3817, Virat Kohli in 3827, and Shikhar Dhawan completed five thousand runs from 3956 balls.

At the same time, de Villiers is the second foreign player to score five thousand runs in IPL. Before him, only David Warner was the only foreign player who completed five thousand runs in IPL. All other batsmen are Indians in this list.
