The Pakistan team suffered a major setback before going on a tour to England as three of their cricketers Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, and Haider Ali tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.
The Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement that the Pakistan Cricket Board confirms that the three players Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan have been found positive in the Coronavirus testing.
As per the Press Release from PCB,
“The PCB medical panel is in contact with the three who have been advised to immediately go into self-isolation.
Among these three players, Haider Ali has not made his international debut for Pakistan. During U-19 World Cup he impressed a lot with his performance. With this, his performance in PSL helped him to earn his maiden call for the Nation.
It is said that these players had no symptoms but they are found positive in Rawalpindi on Sunday. Now, these players will be in isolation. Earlier, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi also tested positive for coronavirus and he shared this information through twitter.
Pakistan team is to go to England tour later this month. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to conduct coronavirus tests for the players.
Earlier the Director of Medicine and Sport Science of Pakistan Cricket Board, Dr. Sohail called this tour as risky. He said,
“During th is pandemic, it is a big risk but this tour is also necessary if cricket is to resume now. The tour is also important as it will also help the country get through the COVID-19 crisis.”
