IPL 2021 | David Hussey is confident that Shubman Gill will be the highest run-scorer in the season. However opening batsman of Kolkata Kight Rider Shubman Gill is yet to make an impact with the bat in this IPL season

Yesterday, against Rajasthan Royals, Shubman Gill once again disappointed, he returned to the pavilion after just scoring 11 runs. In the 5 matches played so far, Shubman Gill has scored only 80 runs, after which he has come under the target of the fans of the team. However, the team mentor David Hussey defended him and called him a star batsman.

In the press conference after the match, David Hussey said

“He is a star player, One thing I do know is that he took the Test match arena by storm in Australia,” Hussey said.

“The way he works on his game in the nets, he’s very specific. He’s got a great work ethic and I reckon all I can say is probably form will come and go, but class is always permanent. He is one class individual off the field but also an exceptionally talented player on the field. Mark my words he’ll be one of the highest-scoring individuals by the end of the tournament”, Hussey added.

Shubman Gill’s poor start

The start of IPL 2021 has not been good in terms of Shubman Gill nor his team KKR. KKR team is at last place in the points table. The team has lost 3 matches in 5 matches. So at the same time, Shubman Gill has also flopped in five consecutive innings. Shubman Gill has scored only 80 runs in 5 innings.
