After the postponement of IPL 2020, Sri Lanka offered to BCCI to host this season of IPL in Sri Lanka, but BCCI rejected it.
All cricket events and sports activities have been postponed due to the deadly coronavirus which has spread all over the world. The world’s largest cricket league IPL is also postponed indefinitely. The BCCI took this decision in view of the worsening situation with the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, now the news is coming that after Sri Lanka, UAE has also proposed before the BCCI to organize the IPL 2020. If BCCI agrees to this, then this will not be the first time that UAE will host IPL. Prior to this, the UAE hosted 20 matches of the IPL in 2014 due to the clash of dates with the 2014 general election in India.
On this decision of UAE, BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal said that at present there is a ban on international travel due to the lockdown, so there is no point in considering it. Dhumal said that the health and safety of the players and of all the participants is our priority. At the moment, the journey of the whole world has come to a standstill, so there is nothing that we can decide. India has so far left no hope of IPL due to Coronavirus.
BCCI officials have said that as of now we are keeping an eye on security because at this time many districts in India are included in the Red Zone where there are many matches of IPL 2020.
He further added that if the IPL 2020 is to be played outside India then it is necessary to discuss it with franchisees, on the one hand, everyone believes that if the IPL is held in India between closed doors then it will be fine.

If the IPL 2020 happens without the audience, then the BCCI can compensate for the huge loss under the broadcasting and title rights. On the other hand, if the IPL happens with the audience when the coronavirus is reduced, then the BCCI will benefit from it by about 2500 crores.
