Indian captain Virat Kohli, says

“I think a large portion of me becoming captain was also to do with him (MSD) observing me for a long period of time. It just can’t happen like he goes and selectors say ‘you become captain’,”

Virat Kohli also added that his advice during the match also gave confidence to Dhoni

“I was always in MS’s (Dhoni) ears, standing next to him, can we try these things, what do you think, he would deny a lot of things but he would discuss a lot of things as well, so he got a lot of confidence that I can do this (captain) after him,”

MS Dhoni is out of the Indian team after losing to New Zealand in the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup 2019. Chennai Super Kings captain Dhoni started training for the IPL 2020. But due to the corona epidemic, the training camp suddenly had to end and all the players returned to their homes.

The Indian captain Virat Kohli is also sitting at home due to the Corna epidemic. He keeps sharing his fitness video on social media.

As a captain, Virat Kohli is yet to win an ICC tournament. But under his captaincy Team India last year defeated Australia in their home Test for the first time. This win was described by Kohli and Coach Shastri as even bigger than the World Cup.
