Unfortunately, their appearance was so controversial that the BCCI had to suspend them from international cricket. Their comments about women and cheerleaders gave birth to an unneeded controversy. However, both cricketers accepted the punishment and came back like champions on the cricket field.


2) Virat Kohli sparks controversy with his remark on foreign cricketers

In November 2018, Virat Kohli launched his official app and took part in a promotional Q and A session. In that brief video, Virat answered a few questions asked by the fans on Twitter.

A fan mentioned that he loved watching Australian and English batsmen more than the Indian batters. The Indian cricket team captain asked him to leave India and settle in another country.


3) Farokh Engineer comments on Anushka Sharma during WC 2019

The 2019 World Cup semifinal loss was an extremely painful one for all Indian cricket fans. Many of them slammed the selection committee for making some questionable decisions while selecting the squad.

Former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer mentioned that he could not even recognize the selectors at the World Cup. He further added that one of them was serving tea to Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli’s wife.


4) Virender Sehwag says MS Dhoni’s captaincy alone did not win India the 2011 World Cup

While millions of hearts broke after MS Dhoni’s run out in the ICC World Cup 2019, the same man had fulfilled the dreams of a billion people by guiding India to a historic World Cup win in the year 2011.

Virender Sehwag was reportedly not having a great friendship with MS Dhoni during his active days. After retiring, he once stated that Dhoni’s captaincy alone did not win the Indian cricket team the 2011 World Cup.


5) Vinod Kambli felt Sachin Tendulkar had forgotten him in Sachin Farwell speech

Vinod Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar gained attention after their record partnership in their early days. The left-handed Kumble took giant strides in cricket soon. However, after some time, his career derailed.

Subsequently, he lost his place in the Indian team. Kambli was heartbroken and shifted his attention to other industries. After Tendulkar did not mention his name in his retirement speech, Kambli was depressed and said his friend had forgotten him.
