Former Aussies legend Jeff Thomson known as “Thommo” took 200 wickets in test and 55 wickets in ODI’s. The right-arm fast bowler has clocked the speed at 160.6 Km/h in a study at WACA, 1976. He is at number 4 in the list of the fastest ball in international cricket. While playing first-class for Middlesex and New South Wales he has 675 wickets on his name.

Shaun Tait burst on to the scene as a tearaway fast bowler. He bowled a thunderous opening over against the arch-rivals England and clocked 161.1 KMPH in that over. Unlike the other Australian fast bowlers, his action took a lot of toll on his body as he tried to up the ante with the speed. He had a scary pace while it lasted.

Shaun Tait bowled his fastest ball in cricket history of 100.1 mph against England.


2) Brett Lee (Australia): 161.1 Km/h (100.1 mph)

The Australian Speedster was renowned for his raw pace. Rhythmic run-up combined with smooth action and follow-through, Lee generated pace with utmost ease.  His fastest delivery came against New Zealand.

Brett Lee bowled his fastest delivery of 161. Kmph (100.1 mph) against New Zealand at Napier in 2005.

Even at the final stages of his international career, Lee never compromised his pace. A real pacer throughout. Brett Lee has 310 test wickets, 380 ODI wickets, and 28 T20I wickets in his international career.

Shoaib Akhtar is the fastest bowler in the world currently and holds the record of the fastest ball in cricket history for his 100.2 mph against England, 2003. He took 178 test wickets and 247 ODI wickets in his international career.
