Gayle in that season scored a mammoth 733 runs and also became the first batsman to score 700 plus runs in a single IPL season. He also hit 59 sixes in that season.

3) David Warner – 09 (2016)

David Warner was playing in IPL after one year ban due to ball-tampering and this time he made no mistake and redeemed himself. He also won the orange cap in IPL 2019 with 692 runs. So we can say David Warner has scored two times 9 fifties in a single IPL season.
