Gayle in that season scored a mammoth 733 runs and also became the first batsman to score 700 plus runs in a single IPL season. He also hit 59 sixes in that season.

3) David Warner – 09 (2016)
David Warner playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2016 scored 9 fifty-plus scores and also led his team to the first-ever IPL trophy. He scored 848 runs in that edition of IPL.
David Warner won single handly won many matches for his team in that IPL season. He also played a captaincy knock in the final of the IPL 2016 against RCB and led his team to the first-ever IPL trophy.
2) David Warner – 09 (2019)
No, we are not making any mistake of showing David Warner once again on the list. David Warner once again scored 9 fifty-plus scores in a single IPL season and this time in the year 2019.
David Warner was playing in the IPL after a year ban due to ball-tampering and this time he made no mistake and redeemed himself. He also won the orange cap in IPL 2019 with 692 runs. So we can say David Warner has scored two times 9 fifties in a single IPL season.

1) Virat Kohli – 11 (2016)
Virat Kohli broke almost every batting record in IPL 2016. From most runs, most fifties, most centuries, he shattererd almost every batting record in the record book of the Indian Premier League in that season.
Virat Kohli in that season scored 973 runs in 16 matches with an average of 81.08 and 4 centuries and 7 fifties. He crossed 50 plus score in that year a total of 11 times which makes him the only player to cross 50 plus score 10 times in a single season. This record is yet to be broken.
