The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has postponed the IPL 2021
This decision has been taken due to increasing cases of coronavirus in the country and after several IPL players and staff members tested positive for Coronavirus.

Earlier on Monday 30th match of IPL 2021 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore was postponed. The match was to be played in Ahmedabad but two KKR players – Varun Chakraborty and fast bowler Sandeep Warrier were found to be Covid-19 positive.
After this two members of the Chennai Super Kings team tested corona positive. This included Bowling coach Laxmipati Balaji and a bus cleaner.
Now on Tuesday IPL Chairman confirmed that IPL 2021 is postponed. He said,
“We have suspended the IPL for now. The new window will be worked out later on. A statement will follow soon,”

Before this in mid of the season, many Australian players had already returned to their home country. Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa, and Kane Richardson were three Australian players. They withdrew from IPL 2021 and returned back to their home country Australia.
England’s Liam Livingstone playing for Rajasthan Royal also decided to return to England due to bio-bubble. Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin of Delhi Capitals also decided to take a break citing some personal reasons.
