Former England top-order batsman, Robert Key is currently in a local hospital after he suffered a mini-stroke last weekend. The former Kent skipper did not have a long international career. However, he was the cornerstone of his county in his prime.

He called it a day on his cricketing career a few years ago as Key became a part of the Sky Sports experts panel. He worked as a broadcaster for the popular English company, but as the cricket world has come to a standstill because of the Coronavirus pandemic, Key was at home with his family.

Robert Key suffered a mini-stroke

Robert Key, who turned 41 last Tuesday, was enjoying his quarantine period with his family. Unfortunately, just a few days after celebrating his 41st birthday, the English batsman suffered a mini heart attack which compelled his family members to rush him to the hospital.

Luckily, the batsman has recovered now. He shared a post on Instagram which featured a photo of himself in the hospital. Here’s what Key wrote in the caption of the post:

“Long weekend. Turns out I’ve had a mini-stroke. Thanks to everyone at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital especially Charlie And Dr baht. Now got to eat food with no flavor and take pills #triffic.”

Earlier a few domestic and international players tested positive for COVID-19 and now Robert Key is in the hospital. It is very disheartening to note so many cricketers suffering from diseases at the same point of time.
